Responsible for the execution of the company’s strategic Land Care Maintenance Program initiatives. This position will assist and support our locations with the implementation and management of internal and external land care teams using proven horticultural principles and cemetery maintenance standards. The includes enhancing land care services for SCI locations to increase cemetery aesthetics, drive cost avoidance, and reduce water usage through technology implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide support to market leadership and location staff on all aspects of land care maintenance programs, including -Planning, contracting, execution and management of vendor activitiesImplementation and management of land care programsProvide support for escalation and resolution of issuesCollaborate with various land care and cemetery maintenance vendors, including –Program concepts, scoping, planning and executionSite assessment planning, program analyzation, capital improvement planning and program initiationNegotiate vendor pricingFacilitate program execution monitor progress, report findings and offer process improvement suggestionsDevelop and share best practicesFacilitate technology implementation related to land care maintenance and irrigation water saving technologyBuild, support, and communicate training for cemetery land care and maintenance skills. Monitor and report results of land care programs Stay informed of emerging trends, technologies, and process improvements in land care management

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have:

Proficiency in vendor sourcing and service and product procurementKnowledge of horticulture vendors related to landscape maintenance in cemetery operationsAbility to understand and negotiate contractsAbility to handle difficult situations and communicate professionally and effectivelyA passion for personal accountability, achievement, learning, and continual improvementSuperior attention to detail, project management, and organizational skillsAbility to identify and recommend methods to resolve problems, simplify tasks, enhance outcomes, and optimize existing processesStrong business acumen, including budgeting, forecasting and analysisAbility to envision and drive improvements to the cemetery maintenance programStrong written and oral communication skills with the ability to adapt to various stakeholder groupsFocus on providing excellent customer service to internal customers   

This role Requires:

Requires remaining up to date on all aspects of land care within the company’s policies and proceduresUnderstands local environmental challenges, labor challenges and cost pressuresIs a non-management position with no direct reportsPeriodic seasonal travel (~25%)

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferredThree (3) years of experience working in the Buyer fieldTwo (2) years of experience communicating with managers and executivesTwo (2) years of experience implementing new programs
