About Us: The Office of the University Architect at Texas A&M University is dedicated to leading the planning, design, and construction changes on campus. We ensure a unique sense of place through memorable architecture and comprehensive project support. Our team conducts preliminary site planning studies, conceptual design studies, and develops the Program of Requirements (PORs) for campus projects. https://facilities.tamu.edu/departments-committees/university-architect.html In this role, you'll ensure new developments align with Texas A&M University's Campus Master Plan and lead the conceptual design of smaller landscape architecture projects. You'll oversee project development, ensuring adherence to TAMU's standards and guidelines. Maintaining campus aesthetics, you'll conduct research, develop landscaping guidelines, and produce reports. Additionally, you'll coordinate landscape design and construction activities, collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure compliance and implementation. Your Opportunities to Contribute: + Innovative Solutions: Apply your knowledge of landscape standards, codes, and regulations to create sustainable and innovative designs. Utilize your experience with large hardscape and softscape installations, plant material identification, and characteristic knowledge to create visually appealing and sustainable designs. + Team Leadership: Lead and work in teams to present and communicate complex planning concepts to a variety of audiences. + Professional Growth: Develop your skills in AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Microsoft Office while working on multiple projects. Location: College Station, TX (Remote work not available) Qualifications Required Education and Experience: + Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a closely related field. + More than six years of progressively responsible experience in landscape design and maintenance, or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. Required Licenses and Certifications: + Registered Landscape Architect in the State of Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months. Preferred Education and Experience: + Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture. + Experience with landscape planning, design, and construction in a university campus setting. + LEED AP or an understanding of sustainable principles and strategies. + Experience with ArcGIS and working experience with SketchUp.
