Landscape Foreman

Status: Full time
Hourly rate: $18-$22/hour DOE

SUMMARY:
Performs routine and specialized tasks involved in either landscape maintenance or construction under supervision of the Landscape Manager and Assistant Managers. Trains and leads seasonal landscape crews in job duties and performs most tasks within the department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The safe and skilled operation of most powered equipment such as: Maintenance Vehicles, Sprayers, Small Tractors, Blowers, Rotary Mowers, String Trimmers, Edgers, Chainsaw, Sod Cutter, Compact utility loader, etc. Installation and maintenance of plant material. Participates in irrigation repair & maintenance. Trains, leads, and holds accountable seasonal landscape crew members to maintenance standards. Makes and reports daily observations of site conditions. Ensures that at the end of the day the equipment and hand tools are thoroughly cleaned and then stored in its proper location. Perform daily repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment and hand tools. Required to wear supplied safety equipment: Safety Glasses, Earplugs, Back Support, etc. Reports equipment problems or failures to the Assistant Manager immediately. Able to effectively handle multiple tasks. Incorporates safe work practices in job performance. Regular and reliable attendance. Maintains a professional standard at Juniper Preserve including, but not limited to, appearance, interaction with members, associates, guests of the club, verbal discussions and written correspondence. Does not discuss work related issues with members and resort guests. Maintains a positive attitude and the flexibility to take on new and different tasks as assigned by the Landscape Manager.
  

QUALIFICATIONS:

Two- or four-year certificates or degrees, or equivalent work experience in landscape field. Must be able to read and understand written and oral instructions. Must be able to comprehend topics of a conceptual nature. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of job-related instruction manuals.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Trains and leads seasonal landscape crews in job duties.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Oregon pesticide applicators license. Irrigation certification.
