Language Lead II
Your Role at a Glance The Language Lead II is responsible for handling project management and performing quality assurance testing for a variety of deliverables. These can include localized user interfaces, printable documentation, help/online documentation, web pages, graphics, videos, and marketing material which are created either directly or by working in partnership with our worldwide network of Resellers. The Language Lead II works closely with an internal team of localization experts to define and manage localization deliverables, working to constantly improve the internal and external localization efforts of the organization. How You’ll Drive SuccessCoordination and Communication + Coordinate linguistic tasks and communications with internal and external resources, including regular communication of tasks, milestones, and overall linguistic schedule. + Respond to queries and assist translators and linguistic reviewers as they localize new software releases, providing clarification, explanation, or additional documentation as needed. Support and Preparation + Provide support to translators and linguistic reviewers by preparing linguistic instructions and necessary reference materials, including glossaries and style guides. Quality Assurance and Feedback + Manage, evaluate, and implement reviewer feedback for localized content. + Assure quality standards are met or exceeded for all localized content delivered. + Provide feedback to translators and linguistic reviewers. Linguistic Review and Process Improvement + Perform linguistic reviews of highly technical localized engineering software and documentation. + Define linguistic processes to maintain and improve the overall quality of localized content, gaining approval where required. + Ensure consistency in language between user interface and documentation deliverables. + Develop localization process documentation. Additional Responsibilities + Participate in projects and ad-hoc teams as needed. + Complete other duties or assignments as directed. The Talents We’re SeekingEducation + Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics, Localization, or related field or equivalent experience. Required Skills + 4-5 years of experience in the localization industry, preferably in an Agile/Scrum environment. + Proven knowledge of localization and internationalization industry standards. + Proven experience with various localization tools such as SDL Trados Studio, SDL Passolo, RCWintrans, or Translation Workspace. + Above average knowledge of translation memory and terminology management tools such as SDL MultiTerm. + Proven experience with quality assurance tools such as XBench or Linguistic Toolbox. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams). + Experience with specialized and technical localization projects, such as engineering or life sciences, preferred. + Fluency in Asian languages highly preferred. Preferred Skills + Above average ability to work independently, with self-direction, to complete tasks and projects in a pro-active manner. + Proven ability to manage several projects/tasks at once while projecting a positive outward demeanor. + Above average analytical, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills. + Very detail oriented with an eye for accuracy and consistency in all localized software and documentation. + Proven ability to set and maintain high quality standards. + Above average interpersonal skills including the ability to interact with colleagues at all levels. + Above average verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide accurate and timely information in a succinct and easy to understand manner. + Demonstrated team player approach including commitment to helping and supporting team members. + Demonstrated adaptability and willingness to learn.
