The Language Quality Specialist is responsible for reviewing select client-facing products for logic and coherence, grammar and punctuation, spelling, consistency, style, language usage, and formatting. Improving experience with language technology solutions such as CAT tools and content authoring software, the Language Quality Specialist employs available technology and process-centered approaches to ensure that FM delivers the best possible products or services. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, proofreading and editing risk reports, engineering correspondence, and a variety of other written and electronic communications.

Responsibilities Ensure FM’s client-facing products and services meet linguistic quality expectations.Provide input on existing linguistic assets (glossaries, style guides, writing standards, etc.), processes, and related issues.Enforce editorial and brand style guidelines.Analyze quality issues, provide feedback, and propose solutions.Engage with authors to define quality expectations.Build and maintain process documentation and mentor/educate authors on language and brand usage.Complete additional duties, as assigned, which support the brand assurance function. Qualifications Education:4 Year College Degree/Bachelor’s - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Communication, Proofreading/Editing, Journalism, or English/Modern Languages.Minimum Years of Experience:Experience in writing/editing plus two years in a related function.Experience implementing editorial style guidelines.Results-driven work ethic with high energy and passion levels.Team player and builder who can problem-solve, show initiative, and influence others.Willingness to constantly analyze how we do things – to challenge conventional wisdom and seek new ways to gain incremental improvements.Excellent computer literacy skills and a strong inclination to use technology to collaborate in a community, collect feedback, analyze data, and automate data management steps.Must have strong interpersonal skills to work with multiple internal clients and stakeholders.Understanding of content authoring systems is preferred!Skills:Advanced editing, written, and grammar skills.Strong interpersonal skills.Strong analytical skills.Independent, self-motivated, and able to work under tight deadlines.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required, and a proven understanding of CAT tools and other languages is strongly preferred!Expert skills with the MS Office suite of tools.The final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience.
