Responsibilities 

Cutting: Use a laser to cut parts from materials like plastic, wood, rubber, and metalSetting up: Select lenses, load programs, and set machine parametersAdjusting: Set the stop location and focal point of the laser beamMaintaining: Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and dimensional inspectionsQuality control: Check parts for accuracy and qualityShipping: Package and ship partsReporting: Detect and report defective materialsOrganizing: Keep the work area clean and organizedAssisting: Help other machine operators and departments

Physical demands 

Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pullingFrequent bending, stooping, squatting, and twistingSitting, standing, and walking for long periodsWearing protective clothing, including eye protection, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes
