Laser Metrology Lab Engineer
Job Description As a Laser Integration Engineer working at Reality Labs Research, you will be responsible for developing metrology systems for laser testing and characterization across multiple programs. As part of this role, you will work on a multidisciplinary team to characterize and integrate lasers into optical systems. Responsibilities Assemble, align and evaluate lasers and optical systems performance at the component, subassembly and system levels Operate and maintain a variety of optical, test and analytical instruments. Own laser safety procedures and compliance of laser labs Perform hands-on optical testing of fabricated lasers. Contribute to the tool selection and metrology capabilities of laser integration labs. Skills and Requirements Masters in Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience Experience with laser metrology and characterization 3+ years of hands-on experience with design, assembly, alignment, and troubleshooting of lasers and complicated optical setups Knowledge of fiber and/or DPSS laser technology, laser and optical design and modeling, optical components and materials from UV to IR, and optical metrology and measurement equipment Familiarity with diffraction gratings, polarization optics, free-space beam propagation and shaping using reflective and refractive elements, acousto-optics, electro-optics, and general laser principles Proficient in the operation of common troubleshooting tools including Oscilloscopes, multimeters, laser power meters, flow meters, etc. Familiarity with metrology equipment automation using Python 5+ years of hands-on experience with design, assembly, alignment, and troubleshooting of lasers and complicated optical setups 3+ years of experience automating metrology systems using Python null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
