What will you do?

In this role you will be involved in machining or processing of metal and non metallic parts by operating a laser cutter.

Key Responsibilities:

Generate shop detail prints. Generate and nest flat pattern work for laser cutting. Work within ERP system to generate BOMs and Routes for production through the shop Set up and operate a cutting machine to perform tasks such as nesting and operating a laser cutter Analyze job orders, drawings, blueprints, and specifications Determine the sequence of machine operations and select the proper cutting tools needed to machine workpieces into the desired shapes Set up equipment to perform the task at hand, setting up work holding fixtures, setting/installing/calibrating tools using a wireless intuitive probing system, set work offsets using a probing system. Observe machines on trial runs or conduct computer simulations to ensure that programs and machinery will function properly and produce items that meet specifications. Modify existing programs to enhance efficiency. Help to maintain machines and work areas in a clean and safe manner. Work in other areas or departments as assigned. Schedule:  Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Key Competencies:

Must be proficient with AutoCAD  Experience nesting/CAM/CNC preferred  Knowledge of basic machining practices and materials is a plus, as is general mechanical knowledge Must have manufacturing experience in the same or similar industry Requires good math skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and managers Ability to work in a team setting Analytical and problem-solving skills Accuracy and quality mindset Reliability High School Graduate or GED
