Launch Material Planner

Lucid Motors is seeking a highly skilled and technically adept Launch Material Planner to join our Logistics team. This role plays a pivotal function in the orchestration of new product introductions (NPIs) and engineering changes across Lucid’s manufacturing programs. You’ll be embedded in the fast-paced intersection of supply chain, product development, and production systems—driving the technical integration of complex material flows through our ERP ecosystem and across internal and external stakeholder networks.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Change Management: Own and drive the cross-functional coordination and execution of engineering change notices (ECNs) and new component introductions. Collaborate closely with Engineering, Vehicle Program Management, and the Material Planning team to ensure alignment on technical implementation timelines. Advanced BOM Analysis & Data Accuracy: Perform deep-dive analysis of engineering BOMs and manufacturing BOMs to validate part accuracy, hierarchy, and structure in SAP. Lead data integrity efforts to enable precise MRP-driven demand signals across all launch phases. ERP Integration & Master Data Control: Partner with the Material Master team to manage master data creation and update activities in SAP. Ensure effective dates, change controls, and configuration accuracy are fully embedded in ERP transactions to support flawless material execution. Supplier Readiness & Capacity Alignment: Engage directly with global suppliers to validate lead times, capacity, and readiness for new programs. Ensure OTIF (On-Time In-Full) delivery performance by applying rigorous tracking mechanisms and escalation procedures. Program Timeline Engineering: Engineer material readiness timelines in sync with vehicle development milestones. Use program management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet) to continuously model material flow scenarios and proactively mitigate risks. Cross-Functional Integration: Act as the central node between Supply Chain, Engineering, PLM, Finance, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Service organizations to ensure systemic awareness of material transitions and engineering change implementation. Production Line Readiness: Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering teams to ensure technical implementation of engineering changes at the line level is synchronized with system and physical part availability. Launch Readiness Reporting: Deliver comprehensive material readiness reports and drive stakeholder alignment through structured project updates, KPIs, and issue escalation paths.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED. 3 years of experience in Material Planning or Supply Chain or, automotive or high-complexity manufacturing environments. 1 year in program/project management experience. Deep understanding of MRP/ERP systems (preferably SAP), BOM structures, material master data, and product lifecycle management. Hands-on experience with new product introduction (NPI) workflows, engineering change control, and part number life cycle tracking. High proficiency in data analysis tools including Excel and Microsoft Project. Strong problem-solving abilities, with a systems-thinking approach to issue resolution and process optimization. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with proven ability to navigate across engineering, operations, and supplier functions.

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related technical field required. SAP S/4HANA experience. Smartsheet and Jira experience. Knowledge of PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter, Windchill).
