Laundry Attendant (Temp to Perm)

We are seeking a temporary Laundry Attendant to work at our Production Facility at our Stone Ridge, NY location. The Laundry Attendant will operate laundry equipment to provide clean uniforms for animal staff in support of ensuring biosecurity of animal production facility. This a temporary role with the possibility of becoming a full-time permanent employee. Temporary benefits include: Paid Sick Time Paid Volunteer Time off 401K Participation ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Collect soiled scrubs and socks from laundry hampers. Sort all soiled articles and treat all stains. Operate commercial laundry equipment including washing machines and dryers in accordance with manufacturer's operating instructions. Sort and fold dried articles. Stock locker rooms with laundered uniforms and socks daily. Fill clothes order list for weekly facility clothes orders. Perform physical environment housekeeping duties in the laundry room, including daily cleaning and sanitizing, according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Handle contaminated articles per company SOPs and OSHA standards. Maintain the inventory of cleaning supplies and linen; inform manager of any inventory needs. Maintain all laundry equipment and inform appropriate personnel of maintenance needs. Maintain required attendance level and adherence to work schedule in order to ensure that assigned duties are completed. Perform all other related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent. Six to 12 months experience preferred. Must be able to read and follow directions for the use of laundry machines and cleaning substances. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend, reach, stoop, grasp, lift, and push; manipulate cloth; operate laundry machines utilizing switches/ buttons/ knobs/ doors; discern stains on cloth and discern machine control indicators. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. The hourly pay rate for this position is $17.75. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
