What is the opportunity?
As a Law Clerk, you will be providing support to the RBC Insurance Law Group Disputes Team.
**Please note this is a hybrid role**
What will you do?
Receipt and review of Claim file and other relevant documentation related to litigation;Locating and obtaining missing documentation;managing all facets of e-discovery related needs and tasks when necessary;preparation of Litigation Summaries which include:accurate description of the Claim detailsaccurate identification of claims handling issuespotential coverage issues or other suggestions for defense handlingAffidavits of Documents: preparation of AODs for all provinces across the country, including liaising with external counsel and internal deponents to ensure timely execution of the AODPre-Discovery Documentary Requests: assisting internal and external counsel to obtain further relevant documentation beyond the claim file;Undertakings: coordinating preparation of responses to undertakings for RBC Life, liaising with Claims, underwriting and customer service department staff and with external and internal counselT360 Data input: verifying data input of the admins and inputting certain data into T360 following preparation of Litigation Summary and such other projects or assignments as from time to time are requiredWhat do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Certificate or degree from a Canadian post-secondary institutionLaw clerk diploma and/or licensed paralegalExcellent problem-solving and client service skillsAbility to ensure accuracy, attention to detail and meet deadlinesInteracts well with others, is a flexible team member and team builderNice-to-have
