Belmont University invites applications for the position of Library Assistant in the College of Law. The Library Assistant is the Law Library’s primary point of contact with patrons and the public. This position reports to the Associate Dean for Information Services, and trains, schedules, and helps supervise student circulation assistants. Other duties include:
Operate the circulation desk (including responding to patron inquiries, checking items in and out, creating reports, and placing and removing holds).Provide upkeep of serial publicationsGenerate and maintain circulation-related statistics.Shelve library materials and perform shelf-reading to identify lost or damaged materials.Checking equipment for working order and ensuring the neat and orderly appearance of the Law Library.Keep forms and signage current.Provide printer tech support for students and facultyServe as Law Library liaison for Facilities, Security, and Housekeeping Departments.The above statements describe the job's essential responsibilities and requirements.
