**Job Description**
Boston College Law School seeks a knowledgeable, experienced, reliable, and detail-oriented individual to join our team of Admission Application Readers for the 2024-25 application cycle. The individual in this role will review applications from approximately November to April for the Juris Doctor degree program as needed. The part-time (Seasonal) Admission Application Reader will be responsible to read approximately 800 applications and they will report to the Senior Associate Director within the Office of Admissions & Financial Aid.
Seasonal Admission Application Readers will be required to:
-Participate in various training sessions on holistic application review, selection criteria, and bias mitigation via Zoom
- Review assigned applications by target deadlines using the Law School Admission Council’s (LSAC) online application system—Unite—for an estimated total of 10 hours per week (depending on the reader’s availability)
- Contextually review application files utilizing established criteria and professional judgment
- Read efficiently, carefully, and objectively while providing comprehensive notes on each file
- Thoughtfully apply evaluation protocols and knowledge of the program and mission of the law school
- Exercise discretion, sensitivity, and professional judgment when managing highly confidential information about applicants and processes; candidates must sign a confidentiality agreement
- Communicate with their assigned supervisor about application reading progress on a weekly basis and as requested.
This position pays $27 per hour (no benefits)

Previous experience in a high-volume selection and evaluation process for admission of students to highly selective higher education institutions.
