Layout Designer

In this role, you will create integrated circuit (IC) layouts that power cutting-edge technologies in smartphones, cars, satellites, robotics, and more. You will develop and prepare multi-dimensional layouts and detailed drawings of semiconductor devices from schematics and related geometry provided by design engineering. **About the job** As a Layout Designer, you will work in a collaborative environment to develop high-performance analog and mixed-signal IC layouts. This role offers the opportunity to learn from experienced engineers, use advanced layout tools, and contribute to the entire IC design process, from floor planning to final verification and tape-out. **Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:** • Creating, optimizing, and verifying analog and mixed-signal IC layouts using CAD tools. • Ensuring compliance with Design Rule Checks (DRC), Electrical Rule Checks (ERC), and Layout vs. Schematic (LVS) verification. • Writing layout specifications, checking dimensions, and verifying final designs. • Collaborating with design, packaging, and process engineers to optimize IC layout for performance, power, and reliability. • Participating in layout design reviews and applying feedback to improve designs. • Automating layout flows and optimizing processes for efficiency and accuracy. • Debugging layout tools, parasitic analysis, and electromigration (EM) constraints. **Put your talent to work with us as a Layout Designer—change the world, love your job!** **Why TI?** + Engineer your future. If you are interested in this position, please apply to this requisition. **Minimum Qualifications:** • Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Electronic Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field OR a program certificate in Advanced IC Mask Layout Design. • Minimum 3.0 GPA **Preferred Qualifications:** • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. • Experience with Unix/Linux environments and Cadence Virtuoso, Assura LVS, DRC, or similar mixed-signal EDA tools (Mentor, Synopsys). • Familiarity with semiconductor device physics, analog circuit sensitivities, and IC manufacturing processes. • Working knowledge of electrical circuits (resistance, capacitance, voltage, and current). • Basic programming experience in Python, Perl, C, or Cadence SKILL to automate layout tasks. • Understanding of parasitic effects, routing impedances, electromigration, and crosstalk. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively across functions. • Interest in learning and mastering layout methodologies for career growth.
