ALS is one of the most sophisticated and highly respected drug detection laboratories in the U.S. We specialize in analyzing biological fluids for the presence and identification of drugs to protect animal health and ensure the integrity of races and contests. **Responsibilities** **About You** We are currently seeking an experienced **LC/MS-MS Chemist** to join our Drug Testing (Nutraceutical Testing) Laboratory. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in using LC/MS-MS instrumentation for drug testing and analysis. You will be responsible for conducting drug analysis, ensuring quality control, and maintaining laboratory equipment and systems. **Qualifications:** + **Education:** A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmacology, or a similar field with research experience in LC-MS/MS drug testing is necessary. + **Experience:** A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience using LC/MS-MS instrumentation is required. + **Skills:** + Strong understanding of LC/MS-MS instrumentation, including daily operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, method development, and data review. + Familiarity with Information Management Systems (LIMS) to process client data. + Good time management skills to optimize workflow and perform multiple tasks simultaneously. + Solid knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and policies. **Key Responsibilities:** + Perform screening and confirmation analysis of biological samples for the presence of drugs and controlled therapeutic medications. + Ensure that appropriate analysis methods and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed. + Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot LC/MS-MS instrumentation. Schedule and conduct regular preventative maintenance with vendors. + Prepare quantitative and qualitative standards and reagents for biological sample analysis. + Perform method optimization and R&D activities related to method development. + Review re-shoots and data for project managers to report findings. + Receive, log, and track incoming samples. + Maintain quality control records and perform data reviews to ensure accuracy and integrity of results. + Support the Quality Department and participate in continuous improvement processes. + Communicate any procedural or operational issues, delays, or difficulties to client service personnel as required. + Utilize Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to document and record all analytical activities. + Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace. + Serve as the point of contact for lab personnel regarding operational or technical issues. + Act as the primary contact for lab technical questions from clients. + Manage inventory of laboratory supplies and ensure that laboratory standards are maintained. + Perform other related duties as required. **Additional Requirements:** + Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced laboratory environment. + Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality, accurate results. + Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Our benefits include: + A base salary range of $80,000 to $90,000 at the time of posting.
