Program Summary
KBR leads the government services world contingency market by providing responsive, full-service logistics support to forces deployed around the world under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contract (LOGCAP). KBR’s enduring mission support of the LOGCAP program dates back to 1992 when we served as the contract’s original prime contractor. Today, we have a workforce of over 6,000 people representing 40 nationalities who perform work on the contract in 14 countries.
Job Summary
The Carpenter General Foreman is responsible for leading and supervising teams of Tradesman, painters, carpenters and plumbers in the completion of construction projects and general Physical Building Maintenance activities. The foreman ensures that projects are completed on time and within budget, while adhering to all safety and quality standards. This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to motivate and lead a team of workers.
Roles and Responsibilities
Assist by providing input to identify key success factors for the carpentry crew.
Provide leadership to create the organizational structure and processes required to fully execute carpentry services.
Ensure the execution of carpentry services meets contract requirements, design data, schedule, cost budgets, and quality standards.
Advise the project team on status, issues, impacts, risks, and cost influence factors.
Maintain short-range look-ahead plans and discuss all deviations.
Review and monitor cost and man-hour budgets for the installation process.
Develop equipment and tool requirement plans and review them.
Oversee the work of assigned personnel, order materials and supplies, and schedule work assignments.
Read and interpret blueprints and use a variety of tools and equipment.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
High School Diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training in construction management, plumbing or a related field is preferred.
At least 5 years of experience as a Carpenter and plumbing.
At least 2 years of leadership, supervisory, or management experience.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety protocols, and quality standards.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Knowledge of all relevant safety standards related to the area of responsibility.
Valid driver's license.
Intermediate English proficiency: Must be able to speak, read, and write in English at an intermediate level.
Fluency in Romanian language and possessing an unrestricted right to work and reside in Romania.
Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
Qualifications related to construction industry or Artisan Type qualifications related to Physical Building Maintenance and Plumbing.
Efficient and detail-oriented with excellent work ethics.
Familiarity with often changing deadlines, inquiries, and related pressures, and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
