Job Description:
The Business Development Lead will be responsible for business development activities related to our US-based Release Systems portfolio of products within L3Harris' RSAT Division. The focus of this position is international pursuits related to carriage and release systems on airborne platforms. Direct responsibilities will include directing and leading customer interactions, strategy development, business development, market assessments, business case development, business capture, capture gating process, pipeline growth, business account management including discretionary spending budgets, CRM management, and development of 1-yr, 3-yr, and 5-yr business plans. The job requires the staff member to have strategic market development acumen demonstrated by prior new product introduction(s) or platform design-in experience. The position also requires the staff member to have effective communications skills, be self-motivated and organized. Some sales cycles may be very long and involve broad high-priced systems requiring Executive approval from the Customer and the Company and so he/she will be expected to provide regular updates to senior sales/operations staff concerning account issues, financial status, etc.
Essential Functions:
• Identify, pursue, and capture new business opportunities related to carriage and release system solutions for airborne platforms in international markets• Responsible for all phases of planning, forecasting, and implementation of marketing and sales for assigned products• Formulate bookings goals, plans, and strategies for market, and ensure that goals are met• Participate in IRAD process ensuring alignment of investment with business goalso Develop new product roadmaps to support the goals of the divisiono Plan and manage the development and introduction of new products• Develop and maintain competitive intelligence and competitive landscape understanding to inform business development and capture efforts• Develop, maintain, and leverage existing relationships with key customers, decision makers, and acquisition officials• Form relationships with new customers and industry partners, paving the way for L3Harris capability insertion in new markets• Provide all necessary marketing information and direction to assure winning proposals• Coordinate and cooperate with all in-plant functional areas to assure timely and accurate response to customer requirements• Travel both domestically and internationally as required to ensure that goals are met• Generate briefing materials as they pertain to the customers' interests/needs Present briefings at customer or site location as needed• Develop, refine, and update business cases• Manage capture gating process• Responsible for developing and managing the bookings forecast for product areao Manage CRM (Customer Relationship Management) database
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience; Or, Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience; Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience• Ability to obtain SECRET clearance• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation), including the ability to generate and deliver articulate and persuasive briefings• Aptitude to clearly communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences• Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment• Ability to travel up to 40%
Preferred Additional Skills:
• Prior military service related to military airborne platforms and/or airborne munitions• Knowledge and understanding of carriage and release market technology trends and challenges• Active SECRET clearance• Direct experience with US DOD procurement and contracting practices• Previous experience with international business development and/or Foreign Military Sales• Previous experience developing and executing comprehensive go-to-market strategy for new products and solutions• Experience with CRM software
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $104,000-$193,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
