Lead, Field Network

General Summary

The Field Network Lead provides leadership and mentoring, along with skill expertise, to other Technicians. Responsibilities include performing installations, maintenance, quality assurance and coordinating every day activities for other Technicians. Typically handles highly complex escalated problems. Activities are generally conducted with a high degree of independence. This position may regularly climb ladders/and or towers (up to 500ft) and work may on rooftops while performing installations.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Provides instruction, on-the-job training, guidance and support to Technicians in accordance with procedures, practices and/or processes to complete maintenance and repairs while maintaining quality and quantity of production in accordance with Rise Broadband standards.Under direction of the Manager, assigns and coordinates work assignments and schedules for Technicians.Perform highly complex work assignments.Maintains quality of Technician production, noting errors in work or departure from established procedures, correcting it and/or advising supervisors.  Provides input and feedback to the Manager regarding performance of Technicians and may assist in writing annual performance reviews.  Responds to customer complaints and questions until resolved. May interview prospective job candidates and participate in the selection process.May act on Manager’s behalf and convey direction to Technicians.  May verify timecards and hours worked by Technicians. Ensures that Company vehicles are presentable and organized.May participate in on-call schedule rotation as needed.Works outside or inside customer’s home or business to complete installations and repairs. Regularly climbs ladders and works on rooftops while performing installations and repairs.Drives a company truck between office and/or home, warehouse, and work sites in a safe and courteous manner, and in accordance with all laws and company policies.Regular, consistent and punctual attendance required. Works on regularly scheduled days as well as unscheduled days and beyond regular work hours due to customer or operational demands, as needed. May require weekend and/or evening work and some travel is required.Follows all Company standard procedures, policies and safety practices in the course of performing work activities.Performs other duties as assigned.

 Job Requirements

HS Diploma or GED equivalent preferred; post-high school education a plusMinimum 18 years of ageValid state driver’s license and acceptable driving record in accordance with Company’s Motor Vehicle PolicyAt least three years’ experience in fixed-wireless or job-related area, such as structured wiring (e.g., new construction electrical, low voltage wiring, home entertainment system wiring); field service installation and repair in voice technology (telephone); data (internet), or video (RF/cable).Demonstrated ability leading teams or projectsDemonstrated ability in SME role (training/mentoring)Comtrain certification is mandatoryRigging certification preferredCertified Climber/Rescuer preferredAdvanced knowledge of networking and electronics theory, and electrical codes and standards relative to communicationsAdvanced knowledge of RF wireless technologies, IP networking, and wireless planningExcellent customer service, time management, and decision-making skills Working knowledge of PC and MS Office products Self-motivated; ability to work independently with limited supervision to complete tasks, respond to department requests, collaborate with others to utilize resources, and apply knowledge to identify quality solutions  Ability to interact and communicate appropriate information to customers and team members in a professional mannerAbility to effectively maintain professional appearance and demeanor in a variety of work environmentsAbility to work required shifts and overtime (as necessary)Ability to travel and provide service in assigned geography Bilingual language skills in Spanish preferredWorking knowledge of networking and electronics; electrical codes and standards relative to residential or commercial communications cablingWorking knowledge of RF wireless technologies, IP networking, and wireless planningAbility to prioritize work flow, multitask, meet deadlines, and remain flexible

Working Conditions

Employee is constantly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. Must possess physical conditioning and stamina to climb heights up to 500 feet and perform physically demanding tasks at such heights. Must be able to frequently climb a ladder and work in an elevated position. On a constant basis, must safely lift, carry and maneuver heavy or awkward objects 100 pounds or more, with or without assistance. Specific vision abilities required include close up, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Full spectrum color vision required.Must be able to work safely in a field or office environment. Must be adept at working in adverse weather conditions.Daily travel within the Company’s geographical footprint is required.
