Lead, Global Crew Readiness Op

POSITION SUMMARY: 
The Lead, New hire Onboarding is in charge of overseeing the daily operations, execution of all onboarding aspects of the employee experience (including all respective aspects of C-TRAC and other relevant systems), overall onboarding associates who focus on onboarding for Direct hires, RCL Manning Agency, Authorized Referral Sources and School globally including data entry of new hires for all shipboard roles.  This individual is also responsible to ensure all SOP are updated and followed carefully, and he/she must ensure that all requirements are being met in a timely manner while providing superior customer service.   

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
1.    With an in-depth understanding of the system and criteria used for the automated processing of the onboarding of new hires for the different roles, collaborates to create processes within C-TRAC (and/or any other relevant system) and implements changes as needed to ensure effective processing of potential candidates.
2.    Manages the onboarding team (Direct hires, Authorized Referral Sources, RCL Manning Agency and School) and data entry team’s performance through regular supervision and coaching.
3.    Proactively aware of the requirements, guides and coaches the onboarding associates and data entry clerks to ensure they are maximizing the customer experience while following all the correct processes
4.    Ensure that data entry team is following correct SOP and accuracy of the information being entered to assist the Onboarding team, Hiring Partners, Schools, Authorized Referral Sources and RCL Manning Agency.
5.    Liases with the RCCL Crew Management team (Recruitment, Visa and POEA) to ensure strong collaboration to meet the standard requirements.
6.    Liaises with the Recruitment associates, Recruiters, Schedulers, Crew Assist, Hiring Managers when appropriate, to ensure hiring and scheduling needs are met in a timely manner.

7.    Establishes SOP and tools for team to find efficiencies, focusing on continuous improvement and alignment with all crew administration requirements.
8.    Works diligently to resolve all onboarding related situations and escalates any irregularities to the Director, HR Operations
9.    Can direct and perform all administrative and documentation tasks related to the onboarding of shipboard employees.
10.    Monitors, analyzes (through the relevant systems – e.g. RCLAnalytics), and consistently meets or exceeds the performance metrics set by the management team
11.    Prepares various reports as required, including, but not limited to, status reports, analysis, and lists of talent pools, including relevant analysis and proposals for improvement
12.    Performs other duties as required.  As needed, participates in special projects assigned by management. Qualifications:
    Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent preferred.
    Minimum of 4 years of administrative, recruitment, and onboarding-related experience. Previous experience in the cruise industry is highly preferred.

 

Knowledge and skills:
    Must be available to work a flexible work schedule (occasional nights, as required)
    Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills in the English language
    Incredible focus on superior customer service to internal and external clients and an innate desire to go above and beyond to achieve excellence
    Strong problem solving ability and tenacious follow-up skills
    Ability to accurately and articulately document information; extraordinary attention to detail.
    Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams; share responsibility for results, provide and accept feedback.
    Ability to communicate tactfully, verbally and in writing, to gather and relay information in a multinational environment
    Ability to create, analyze, and summarize reports, and to implement/execute continuous improvement strategies and tactics based on the relevant information
    Ability to lead a team in a positive and productive manner by motivating, developing, and managing employees.
    Working knowledge of computers and desire to work with new and innovative technology.
    Ability to acquire knowledge of general shipboard functions on a cruise ship, and the general concept of the shipboard organization.   Familiarity of world geography and time differences.
    Working knowledge of accepted human resources recruitment practices.   Ability to acquire knowledge of recruitment processes in various countries.
    Ability to productively work under tight time constraints and stressful situations.
    Knowledge of automated human resource systems is preferred.
