Position Summary
The Safety and Health Lead provides support to the manufacturing plant by leading and embedding corporate safety programs and tools into the ways of working and culture at IVC.
ResponsibilitiesPrimary Functions
Track and report monthly plant safety metrics to plant management and corporate stakeholders.Guidance of regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910 to site leadershipResponsible for identifying hazards in the workplace and working with site leadership to reduce or eliminate them. Organize and lead the plant Safety Committee, including preparation of meetings, recording of meeting minutes, maintenance of records, and ensure execution of identified actions.Lead safety training programs, including new hire and annual safety training sessions. Provide guidance on all safety program training to site associates.Champion the Emergency Response Team, to include meetings, trainings and evacuation drills, and first-aid boards management (i.e., 1st-Aid, CPR, AED, etc.), Lead safety incident response efforts and function as clinic/hospital liaison following any incident requiring medical treatment. Ensure Incident Reports are properly reported. Lead incident investigations, complete required documentation in a timely manner, and develop corrective and preventative actions.Support and attend site meetings and communicate EHS metrics Develop, implement and maintain tracking system for GEMBA safety walks and observations Organize and execute regular safety audits, including but not limited to, hazardous waste storage inspections, PPE compliance audits, etc.Coordinate annual audiometric exams or other work-related wellness actions. Attend safety webinars and external safety training or meetings as required.Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Key Qualifications
1-5 years in manufacturing safety.Excellent computer capabilities, including MS Office.Interpersonal skills to work effectively with individuals both internally and externally The ability to work with and maintain information of a highly confidential and sensitive nature.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Demonstrated ability to display diplomacy in day-to-day interactions with the commitment to task with awareness of urgency.The ability to work independently and work as a value add to plant team efforts.Requires occasional lifting and carrying of up to 30 lbs.Ability to reach, twist, and bend occasionally.Available to work flexible hours as needed to support the businessOSHA 30-Hour training is highly preferred, but not required.IVC is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V – EOE
