Position Summary:

 

This position will be responsible for the daily support of all iFLY tunnels operation, future planning, maintaining par of qualified trained staff, and maintaining integrity of sports venues fleetwide with focus on Quantum Class ships. Responsibilities will include all policies, procedures and SQM, safety and security, and all day-to-day training and operations for iFLY (supplies & logistics, inventory & ordering, and programming) of all the following attractions: NorthStar, Ripcord by iFLY, Bumper Cars, Trapeze, SkyPad, SeaPlex Operations, and any future venue that might be included in the New Build Sports program. Additional responsibilities will include planning and organizing FITPs throughout the year, also helping with planning training and maintenance needs for each sports venue and ship assigned. This position will work closely with shore side and shipboard maintenance department helping with communication from ship to vendors. The Lead, iFLY Training & Sports Support will be responsible for Traveling iFLY Trainer (s), Sports iFLY Lead, iFLY trained Sports Staff, Supervisor and Manager development and support, promotion process for Sports iFLY Lead, and new Sports Staff for iFLY. The financial responsibility for this role is overseeing the yearly budget for FITP, Traveling iFLY Trainer (s), operational knowledge assistance when financial and revenue team work on pricing and revenue from venues such as iFLY, North Star. The Lead, iFLY Training & Sports Support will plan and maintain vendor communication, ship visits & follow ups, AMOS orders for replacement parts, travel planning and ECCR’s booking.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Responsible for the overall daily support of all iFLY tunnels inclusive of developing and maintaining SQM and safety related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure onboard compliance and safety standards of all iFLY tunnels based on International Bodyflight Association (IBA) and Sky venture regulations. Responsible for the acquisition, scheduling, and planning of the Traveling iFLY Trainer(s) for optimal fleet iFLY support. Organize, plan, and set up quarterly safety training meetings & checks as required by the International Bodyflight Association (IBA) for each iFLY tunnel fleetwide – minimum 4 visits per ship per year. This position is responsible for planning and coordinating with vendor support - Skyventure Corporate the staff training for new Sports Staff to attend the Flight Instructor Training Program (FITP) at their land-based tunnels or onboard where possible. Partner with procurement and risk management to maintain all necessary equipment, uniforms, PPE for iFLY trained instructor and Guests use. Organize and implement a progression program for all iFLY trained Sports Staff to be able to advance on the various IBA levels of training to offer a high quality iFLY guest experience. Create a yearly plan for future maintenance visits, training and needs for iFLY tunnels, North Star, and other Sports venues, to maximize usage and prevent any down time that might affect guest experience. Work with Manager, Fleet Sports Operations to develop and implement new initiatives on iFLY program and to keep the integrity of other Sports venues on board. Oversee vendors, remote or on site, to support the execution of work, any venue related to sports operations not limited to NorthStar, Ripcord by iFLY, Bumper Cars, Trapeze, SeaPlex Operations, Sky Pad and any future venue that might be included in the New Build Sports program Performs other duties as required. Knowledge and Skills:

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Excellent interpersonal and written skills. Candidate must possess strong leadership skills, time management skills, and written and oral communication skills and be able to effectively with all senior levels of operational personnel. Computer skills Travel required.

 

Qualifications and Education:

 

Bachelor's Degree in Recreation, Sports Programming, Exercise Sports Science, Event Planning, Leisure Studies, Entertainment or Travel, or five to seven years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of five to seven years related experience. Experience managing and supporting large remote offices, ships, venues or locations. Experience managing and developing budgets and revenue with proven ability to drive results in this area. One to three years shipboard experience within the Cruise Director's division preferred. Shipboard managerial or supervisory experience preferred. 1-3 years’ experience working in an iFLY or skydive tunnels/simulator required. iFLY tunnel management, parts, and processes preferred

Financial Responsibilities:

 

Understand, control and plan budgeting for the year for venues and attractions maintenance such as NorthStar, Ripcord by iFLY, Bumper Cars, Trapeze, SeaPlex Operations, Sky Pad, and any future venue that might be included in the New Build Sports program. Instrumental in the creating, planning, and reforecasting expense for shipboard repair and maintenance budget for iFLY tunnels and sports attractions replacement equipment and parts totaling $1.2M.

 

 

Working Conditions:

 

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos. Ability to communicate effectively with various departments within the organization, both shipboard and shore side. Excellent interpersonal skills.  Ability to build, challenge and develop a high caliber team both shoreside and shipboard.
