Who we’re looking for
We are seeking a highly skilled industry professional with expertise in geology, metallurgy, or engineering, combined with financial and economic acumen, to lead industry and market analysis that shapes strategic decision-making. The ability to craft a compelling narrative from data and market insights will be key to influencing strategy at the highest levels.
Reporting to the Director of Market Analysis and Strategy, this role will lead the Industry and Market Analysis team, providing data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making across marketing and supply chain workstreams. Leveraging your deep industry expertise and strong understanding of economic drivers, you will guide a team to deliver actionable market intelligence, ensuring Newmont remains ahead of market trends, pricing dynamics, and emerging opportunities in a competitive global landscape. You will demonstrate the professional capability and confidence to be highly effective autonomously whilst integrating fully across Newmont’s regional operations teams.
You must have:
• Undergraduate Degree in a relevant discipline (i.e. Engineering, Geology, Economics, Finance and/or Business)
• Post-graduate Degree or Professional Certification preferred
• Expert skills in Power BI, Tableau, MS Excel and although not essential, skills in SAP, AribaMS and/or similar preferred
• Significant experience in commercial strategy, market intelligence and strategic decision-making methodology based on robust market analytics
• Proficiency in the use of MS Office applications including Excel, Word, Powerpoint
• Experience in owner/operated global mining environments
• Full employment eligibility to work in Australia.
This role will suit applicants currently living in Perth, Brisbane or Melbourne. Residents of another Australian capital city will be considered for the ideal candidate. Full eligibility for employment in Australia will be essential. The position will be offered on a fully flexible hybrid/work from home basis. It is anticipated you will be a seasoned professional accustomed to working from home while utilising the Newmont capital city office hub when required to be effective in your role.
