L3Harris’ Communication Systems segment is currently seeking a Specialist, Systems Engineer to join our team. Successful candidates will have experience leading and interfacing with teams of multiple disciplines utilizing systems engineering tools and resources.

Essential Functions:

Closely partners with Product Manager and Program Manager assigned to the project throughout all stages of product development and release to productionAssist in developing detailed plans including timelines, resources, and risk assessmentsLeads all technical aspects of a project to ensure quality and timely deliveryCoordinate and review work done by various teams including engineers, technicians, manufacturing, vendors, and subcontractorsWorks to identify and remove roadblocks (internally across the organization and externally) for the team to help them progress in their developmentPlug any technical gaps that exist between the coverage of project team by providing the expertise needed or by pulling in the appropriate experts.Maintains effective communication between development team and stakeholdersDevelop/review technical documentation including interface control documents, operation/maintenance guides, test plans, schematics, system diagrams, etc.Participate in technical feasibility decisionsAssist in hand-on integration, test, and debug as necessary with project teams in a lab environmentAbility to travel up to 10%


Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.5+ years experience leading and interfacing with teams of multiple disciplines utilizing systems engineering tools and resources.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of 9 years relevant experience in project engineering, hardware engineering, design engineering or system engineeringProven debugging and problem-solving skillsAbility to synthesize between high level requirements into low level system and design specificationsExperience developing schematics, assembly drawings, and electronics manufacturingCapable of interfacing with all departments in L3 Harris, vendors, subcontractors and customersCoordinate and review work done by other engineers (HW, SW, ME, CE, etc.), technicians and other support staffAbility to estimate efforts accurately and thoroughlyKnowledge of production flow and processesAbility to perform project and resource planningAble to think at the system level as well as the component levelExperience in writing proposals, BOEs, contract documents, and technical whitepapersStrong knowledge of communication systemsLink 16 or other tactical communication experience

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $122,500 - $227,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
