Royal Caribbean Group’s Entertainment team has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Lead, Production Operations Strategic Planning reporting to the Director, Entertainment Operations.

 

Position Summary

 

The Lead, Production Operations Strategic Planning provides critical support for the Entertainment Production Operations area of Royal Caribbean Productions.

 

The primary responsibility of this role is to support the development and execution of the year-round, fleetwide production cast change strategy. This includes both shoreside rehearsal operation planning, as well as the cast changeover process across all theatrical venues within the fleet. Additionally, this role provides day-to-day operational supervision and administrative support at the shoreside entertainment rehearsal facility to include production cast contractual agreements, logistics, documentation, travel, and visa-related requirements. The Lead, Production Operations Strategic Planning must be comfortable operating within ambiguity and possess the ability to adjust swiftly to changing operational needs, be forward-thinking, and embrace innovation.

 

Additional functions include general support of the operation at Royal Caribbean Productions, supporting the shoreside rehearsal and office operation at the Entertainment Studios in North Miami, FL and shipboard production operation.

  

Key Responsibilities:

 

Partners closely with Manager, Production Operations Administration to coordinate strategic planning of the annual fleetwide cast changeover plan for approximately 100 cast changes per year across the fleet Collaborates with Casting, Artistic Integrity and Wardrobe operational teams, as well as other areas of RCI Entertainment, on all aspects of shoreside rehearsal and shipboard installation planning and strategy Monitors and maintains appropriate shoreside studio rehearsal timeline requirements Supports communications pertaining to cast changeover and installation annual plan for entire fleet, including Theater, Ice, Aqua, Acro, Two70, and special projects Works closely with Royal Caribbean Productions management team to develop Production Show Installation Schedules for all cast changeovers, including troubleshooting, as needed Works closely with Fleetwide Aerial Support personnel to ensure accuracy of annual fleet aerial schedule, for shoreside rehearsals and shipboard installations Coordinates with rehearsal logistics, studio operations, and casting teams to identify and resolve rehearsal operation challenges Reviews strategic plan against deployment concerns or other potential conflicts to identify necessary operational adjustments Provides guidance to the production operations personnel to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures Conducts process assessments for improvement opportunities and executes accordingly Offers problem resolution to support escalations, ensuring service and solutions through to completion Fosters a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting open communication and idea-sharing

Qualifications, Education, and Experience

 

Bachelor’s degree preferred from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Communications, Theater, or related field Experience in the entertainment industry and cruise industry, shipboard and/or shoreside, a plus Excellent logical and critical thinking skills, coupled with a strong ability to research and analyze, and make impactful decisions Attention to detail and organizational skills required Prior experience with crew member onboarding protocols, visa/immigration requirements, and crew movement processes preferred Expertise in interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal communication in a multicultural environment with all levels of employees and management Demonstrate a strong work ethic, receptiveness to guidance, with an ability to creatively tackle challenges under ambiguous circumstances High level of emotional intelligence. Innovative thinker with a growth mindset

 

Knowledge and Skills

 

Understanding of computer systems to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, JD Edwards Ability to work efficiently under pressure and able to meet deadlines Must be able to effectively handle many different projects and responsibilities at once, problem-solve and multi-task

 

Financial Responsibilities

 

Responsible for keeping business on track within operating budgets and identifying the most cost-effective solutions and operational opportunities
