Your impact
Conduct engineering studies and technical evaluations for projects in the region, ensuring comprehensive analysis, alignment with study objectives, and informed decision-making to support successful project execution and delivery, in conjunction with multidisciplinary project study teams.
As part of our team you will Delivery of engineering to support and progress project studies from Stages 0 (Conceptual) to 2B (Pre-Feasibility – Confirmation).Plan, organize, direct, control and coordinate internal and consulting teams to complete civil, mechanical, electrical and other discipline engineering on multiple studies across the region ensuring they stay on schedule and within budgetary and quality expectations.Assure Safety and Sustainability in Design and Hazard Identification principles are incorporated into all study engineering.Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to collect and assess data necessary for engineering studiesFormulate detailed engineering study reports, including options analysis, design, calculations, engineering risk assessments, and technical recommendations required by Newmont Investment System to enable successful navigation through the stage gates as well as that required to obtain project permits.Assess and confirm engineering study findings to ensure accuracy and compliance with Newmont and industry standards and regulations.Deliver engineering study results and recommendations to study and project management and project study team members for decision-making.Facilitate effective communication and information sharing with study teams member peers to effectively incorporate study findings into project planning and execution.Assure engineering at each study stage supports appropriate capital and operating cost estimate confidence.Identify potential engineering risks, recommend and implement mitigation strategies, and continuously monitor for risks. Contribute to development of options for evaluation in early stage studies, especially those related to mine site infrastructure, services and facilities.Collaboration with project execution teams to develop scopes and execution plans for engineering to be completed during Stage 3 (Definitive Feasibility) and Stage 4 (Execution).

Education
Post secondary degree specializing in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Process / Metallurgical Engineering or similar discipline.Experience
Extensive knowledge and experience in managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams either as a consultant or as part of owner’s team.Experience in the design, operation and management of mining complexes and supporting infrastructure.Experience with projects of significant complexity and scale (>$100M).Understanding of capital and operating cost estimation and project scheduling principles.Skills and Abilities
Advanced proficiency in managing time constraints, competing priorities and work prioritization, in multidisciplinary environment.Strong analytical capabilities and sound business sense, advanced documentation preparation skills with high attention to detail.Excellent vertical and horizontal communication skills, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on report writing and preparation of summary reports.Must be able to articulate complex projects and develop and present presentations which are accurate and concise and clearly identify risk/opportunity.Proven ability to ‘think outside of the box’ and develop complex mining development solutions which are ‘fit for purpose’.Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and document controls systems such as Aconex.Professional engineering designation beneficial but not required.Ability to work with multi-cultural teams in different time zones.Fluency in English required; Spanish language ability is beneficial.Your work environmentThe preferred locations for this position are Denver, CO but flexible to remote work location within the LATAC or North America region based on Newmont office or site locations. Qualified candidates in proximity to one of these sites are encouraged to apply. Periodic international travel to various project sites and offices will be required.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $144,000 - 189,000. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
