Lead, Warehouse

Job Summary

Position is responsible for performing the duties of the assigned area Warehouse Associate and also assists in performing the following leadership activities.

Essential Functions

Assist in delegating work assignments in department. Monitors and verifies that tasks are being performed in accordance with the company’s policies and standards. Participates in training new employees and re-training present departmental employees in processes and methods as required. Assists in completing and maintaining departmental records, files and paperwork. Leads the Team in all matters of safe work practices, reporting exceptions when necessary. Leads the team in matters of housekeeping and environmental compliance. Inspects and reports equipment, supplies, material issues/problems to Warehouse Manager or Supervisor. Assists in completing performance evaluations. In the Manager/Supervisor’s absence, provides direction for Warehouse Associates. Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and use foot/feet to operate machine.  The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and frequently move more than 250 pounds.  Specific vision abilities may be require by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.  Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, dust mask, hard hat, respirator, face shield, hearing protection, chemical suit, gloves, aprons, etc.  Work is inside and the typical noise level is loud. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions and explosives.  Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.  The employee is frequently exposed to vibration.  The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
