Lead - 1st shift (Fabrication)
Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Lead - 1st shift (Fabrication). Add sentence or two about what the business does/manufactures. The hourly rate for this position is $42.44 per hour. The hours for first shift are as follows; 5:30 am - 1:45 pm. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. **What you’ll do:** Coordinate and Lead the programming, set-up and operation of CNC mills for prototype, repairs, tooling and short production runs in the Fabrication Department. + Adjust machines, tools and edit programs to achieve blueprint and process plan requirements. + Verify requirements are met using appropriate inspection equipment. + Completes routers, process sheets, program edit sheets, tool list modifications, fixture and tool offsets, SPC data, Certified Operator Program and other necessary documentation. + Participate in the Eaton Quality Improvement Process, BOS and 5S. + Collect SPC data as dictated by the Process Plan and Process Control Plan, if applicable. + Ensure that all calibrated equipment is returned to Metrology Lab prior to the calibration due date. + Assure cleanliness and proper operation of equipment. + Participate in and support Fabrication Team activities. + Assist and mentor Machinists and Machine Operators. **Qualifications:** Basic Qualifications: + High School diploma or GED. + Minimum 10 years experience in machining processes in a manufacturing environment. + Relocation is not offered for this role. Candidates must reside within a 50 mile radius of the Los Angeles, CA facility (zip code 90039) to be considered + This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee Preferred Qualifications: + Aerospace experience preferred. + Experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment. **Skills:** Position Criteria: + Knowledge of programming and programming classes. + Knowledge of shop mathematics, machines tools, production methods and shop practices. + Ability to set-up and operate mills and lathes. + Ability to maintain close tolerance dimensions on critical parts. + Good knowledge of dimensional measuring instrumentations and use of such tools to verify actual measurements of machined dimensions and features. + Ability to read and interpret drawings, manufacturing routings, procedures and routers. + Ability to work well with others in the areas of teamwork and communication. + Good verbal and communication skills. + Familiarity with SPC principles and methods. + Ability to logically solve problems and to keep assignments and projects moving in an orderly and structured fashion. + Ability to work with engineering regarding new parts or new machining requirements. + Ability and willingness to cross train others, and be trained to work where needed. + Involvement in successful process definition and re-engineering a plus. + Experience in employee involvement in multi-discipline teaming a plus. + Proficiency with computer based methods and tools a plus. + Familiarity /experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, continuous improvement and Six Sigma methodology a plus.
