The Lead Additive Manufacturing Engineer will have ownership in developing, qualifying, and the overall continuous improvement of our additive processes and products with the goal of industrializing them into the GE Gas Power supply chain. Direct Metal Laser Melting (DMLM) technology is the primary additive manufacturing process this role will focus on with component development and process improvements for safety, quality, delivery and cost. Additional modalities (binder jet, EBAM, DED, etc.) may also be explored across a range of metal alloys, as is the development of print post processing and inspection processes.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

Own the development, producibility and qualification of additive products and test hardware advancing the MRL levels.Collaborate with design, other additive engineers, and technicians to develop and optimize additive manufacturing designs and processes.Setting up additive build files, post processing, part inspection, troubleshooting and process documentation. Develop and implement improvements to the additive parts and process driving improved safety, quality, lead time and cost. Work with plant manufacturing engineers to industrialize full additive supply chain.Partner with internal customers to develop a production catcher and implementation plan looking at full lifecycle of additive parts.Own parts of the AMRT Additive operation applying lean/5S methodology to reduce waste and improve the safety, quality fulfillment and cost of additive parts and test hardware.Assist in the education of additive manufacturing across the organization.

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 8 years of experience in manufacturing or technical fields.Minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering\\manufacturing\\supply chain experience.Ability and willingness to travel international and domestic
