Position Summary

           

The individual will have a broad dynamic role in a Finance team based in Cork. This individual is part of a team supporting the business partnering with R&D teams, providing meaningful business analysis on financial and business-related issues.  This role partners heavily with a Research and Development global function.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Manage the capital investments across Stryker Instruments R&D, partnering with Project owners to ensure due diligence of investment process, developing tracking models, and control and report spendManage the CER process for Stryker Instruments in Ireland to ensure compliance with the corporate approval process.Report actual financial performance across Stryker Instruments R&D.Support the monthly projection process for all R&D departmental spend, headcount and capital.Prepare new technology, new products, base spend, resources and capital investment budgets for all R&D/AO teams.Support project accounting process to track R&D projects by location.Support the preparation of the annual R&D Tax credit claim across multiple locations by performing detailed analysis and ensuring compliance to Revenue requirements. Support the preparation of IDA R&D Grant submissions.Monitor performance and provide business intelligence & analysis to all levels of management to enable the business to meet its commitment and respond to targets.Raise attention to mitigate business and financial risks & exploit potential opportunities.Ensure compliance with statutory requirements across all international reporting regions.SME in relation to change control for financial reporting.

Qualifications

Knowledge Skills

Qualification and Experience required :  

A recognised professional accounting qualification and preferably a broad business qualification.        5 Years + post qualification experience working in a multi-national.    A thorough understanding of accounting and financial principals, budgeting, reporting, financial analysis and forecasting.

           

Professional Knowledge :

Be able to consume and synthesize large amounts of information and present relevant points concisely.   Working with all disciplines at every level in promoting the development of services, business plans, budget management and cost control.       Ability to manage multiple financial projects, adjust priorities as needed, and meet deadlines.Technically strong in compliance and financial reporting acumen.

           

Key Competencies/Skills :         

Ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships at all levels both within the organisation and with third parties.  Self-directed and ability to influence across the organisation at multiple level.Excellent financial ERP knowledge, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.    Must be comfortable in a matrix-management environment.  A 'can-do' attitude to all business challenges.           Target driven with proven ability to motivate.Superior communication skills both quantitative and qualitative
