Expected salary range of $131,400 to $146,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).
**PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION**
The Lead position within Wholesale Operations is expected to manage both individual and team work efforts. In addition to day-to-day workflow, the lead is responsible for the development and success of employees and serves as an escalation contact for their functional group. The Lead will have a thorough and advanced understanding of the Power/Environmental/Fuels markets and act as the subject matter expert in trade capture, market settlements, and/or confirmations and exchange management. An individual in this position has proven leadership capabilities and past success building and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, leading large projects and initiatives, mastering the applications and business processes essential to the role, and coaching and mentoring individuals across the organization. Daily activities may include capturing deals effectively in the risk system, coordination of the confirmation process to ensure timely confirmation with external counterparties, ensuring timely and accurate settlement, technical and large data set analysis, reporting and compliance, developing and implementing efficiencies/enhancements/process improvements, contract and new deal review, communicating cross-functionally to solve problems, and liaising with others on the management team and throughout the organization to ensure Wholesale Operations is meeting customer needs and accomplishing organizational goals. This role will provide leadership and feedback to team members, foster a diverse and inclusive environment, and champion teamwork, collaboration, and training.
**PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES**
+ Serve as a subject matter expert in competitive energy markets, including Generation, Load, and Fuels. Verify all related activities with ISOs, utilities, or pipelines, and maintain in-depth knowledge of market policies, design changes, trends, and relevant regulations.
+ Lead the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions related to ISO and Fuels settlements, long-term power contracts, renewable products, and generation management systems. Coordinate change management and business requirements for new and existing systems; support trade capture, confirmations, and settlement applications.
+ Provide detailed data analysis and reporting to meet internal and external requirements. Maintain a robust control environment through compliance with settlement and trade capture processes. Ensure documentation and audit readiness, and oversee key financial controls for effectiveness.
+ Assist with business process development, documentation for training, personnel development, and business continuity purposes.
+ Manage and coordinate departmental responses to internal and external audit and Sarbanes Oxley compliance assessments
+ Review and monitor key financial controls for effectiveness.
+ Lead and develop a team (typically 1-3 personnel) responsible for trade capture, confirmations, exchange management, ISO/RTO settlements, structured deals, third-party transactions, P&L reporting, and fuels settlements. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages open communication, development conversations, and career growth.
+ Serve as escalation point of contact for internal and external customer issues impacting the team
+ Participate and actively engage in goal development, projects, and initiatives. Provides thoughtful insight in strategy discussions and suggests meaningful ways to improve organizational effectiveness. Brings ideas and opinions to the table and willing to challenge the status quo.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or business related field and 8 years of experience, or 12 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
+ Knowledge of wholesale energy products and experience in trading, risk management, finance, or accounting
+ Proven leadership experience in managing small teams or projects, with the ability to train, coach, and mentor employees effectively
+ Demonstrated ability to build consensus, establish trust, drive accountability and communicate effectively (written & verbal).
+ Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills with ability to solve new and complex problems quickly
+ Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies, with expertise in process mapping
+ Strong spreadsheet capabilities and knowledge of specialized software products
+ Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects through strong project management and planning skills
+ Proven experience driving strategic collaborations with multiple internal and external stakeholders
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA, FRM, MBA), or active progress toward completion
+ 5-years of experience in a utility or retail/wholesale market-related setting
+ Advanced knowledge of wholesale energy markets and products, including Power Purchase Agreements, Offtake agreements, RECs, renewable products, swaps, options, and hedging instruments
+ Experience with Financial/ETRM Systems.
