Role overview

We seek a Lead Android Mobile developer responsible for developing and maintaining our mobile applications. You will work closely with other developers, designers, and product managers to deliver high-quality products that meet our customers' needs and expectations.

In this role, you will

• Design and development of Android applications, ensuring robust performance and seamless user experience.

• Architect and implement sophisticated features and services while adhering to best practices in software engineering.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers.

• Conduct code reviews and implement coding standards.

• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

What you’ll need to you'll (required skills)

• 9+ years of proven working experience in Android development.

• Expertise in Java and Kotlin, with an extensive portfolio of sophisticated and high-performance applications.

• In-depth knowledge of Android SDK, Android Studio, and mobile development standard processes.

• Extensive experience with Android architecture components, design patterns (e.g., MVVM, MVP), and sophisticated UI/UX principles.

• Strong background in integrating RESTful APIs, JSON, and backend services.

• Strong understanding of Android application performance optimization, security, and scalability.

• Experience with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

Working arrangements

Hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role's business role requirements, this hybrid position requires working three days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, ON.
