As a Lead Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Security Services Engineering and Architecture team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance and develop high-quality architecture solutions for software applications operating on modern cloud-based technologies.  The E&A team support technology teams across multiple product areas, performing proofs of concepts and providing subject matter expertise on technical and functional architecture. 

Within the team you’ll apply your deep technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to delivery of critical architecture solutions that help Securities Services design and operate modern, efficient and secure Cloud Native applications across private and public cloud. 

Job responsibilities

Engages with technical and business stakeholders to understand functional and non-functional requirements, discuss and propose technical approaches to meet current and future needs.Provide oversight and guidance to technology teams deploying workloads to Public Cloud, notably AWS.Participates in architecture governance bodiesExecutes creative solution design, development, and technical troubleshooting across software and infrastructure with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsIdentifies gaps in current technologies/services and evaluates, reviews and provides feedback on improvements.Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experienceHands-on practical experience of Public Cloud Solution Design (primarily AWS)Experience with one or more mainstream programming languages, i.e. Java, PythonExperience with microservice application development in or Solution Oriented Architecture/N-Tier ArchitectureExperience with multiple data storage technologies, e.g.  RDBMS, NoSqlProficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life CycleDemonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)Advanced knowledge of one or more software, applications, and architecture disciplinesAbility to evaluate current and emerging technologies to recommend the best solutions for the future state architecture

Experience in secure application and software design practiceExperience with Infrastructure as Code designsArchitecture Certification for a Public Cloud providerIn-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
