Principal responsibilities

The primary purpose of the role is to deliver Infrastructure Architectures and Designs for Risk Compliance IT, ensuring the designs meet the strategy for the business area and the overall enterprise infrastructure strategy.
The team also contributes to the management optimisation of the portfolio of infrastructure for each business unit, driving operational improvement cost efficiencies.
This role will support the Risk Compliance IT business projects and transformation programmes delivering new IT services, exploiting infrastructure technologiesmigrating applications to IaaS / PaaS platforms on internal and external clouddriving a greater utilization of virtualisation lower cost storagemigrating away from non-strategic technology platformsThe Infrastructure Architect is expected to work closely with Engineer to delivery Infrastructure Solutions. The role focuses on both Architecture:Determine business requirement and influence solution towards preferred HSBC Technology FSA modelGauge strategic impact to business function, impacted upstream and downstream services and subsequent technology footprintEnsure logical design contributes to technology objectivesExamine potential demise opportunities and propose deployment optionsConsider optimal service hosting and placement in line with strategy
Delivering end to end technical infrastructure designs, ensuring Non-Functional Requirements are realised and validatedVerify impact to adjacent services/systems and Validate deployment and support modelQualify technical acceptance of all componentsReview design and gain approval via architecture governanceOptimise infrastructure with commercial sense
