Job summary
Lead & validate all art assets created or modified (2D & 3D), guardian of art assets quality + consistency with existing assets & art direction

Creative Vision and Art Direction

Collaborate closely with the Creative Director to bring their creative vision to life, ensuring the visual experience of the game meets expectations.Champion and maintain the set art direction, relaying it to the team to ensure consistency across all visual assets.Lead the team in executing creative direction and ensure assets align with the established standards.

Asset Creation and Quality Assurance

Lead the creation of all visual assets, including concept art, 3D models, animations, 2D assets, and more, ensuring quality standards are met.Oversee and guide the team and outsourced vendors in asset creation, providing briefs, feedback, and maintaining high-quality outputs.Ensure consistency of assets with preexisting content, adhering to predefined standards and design criteria in collaboration with other departments.

Collaboration and Implementation

Work alongside other development teams (content, level design, gameplay programming) to implement visual assets in accordance with set specifications.Guide the art assets team to ensure created and implemented assets meet creative and technical expectations.Collaborate with marketing teams to maintain consistency of art style in both in-game and promotional assets (static and video).

Documentation and Organization

Maintain up-to-date documentation, including concept art, models, quality specifications, and art direction guidelines.Organize and optimize asset libraries and object banks in the editor, ensuring a clear, logical structure to avoid duplication and unnecessary versions.

Outsourcing and Best Practices

Manage the outsourcing of asset creation, including specifications, quality criteria, and feedback deliveries in collaboration with the production team.Share best practices for design, creation, documentation, workflows, and tooling, focusing on optimizing assets quality, technical performance, and overall pipeline efficiency.

Problem Solving and Optimization

Actively participate in solving issues related to bugs and asset optimization, advocating for reworks to ensure the highest quality.Proactively contribute to refining workflows and enhancing asset quality throughout the development process.

Qualifications

Relevant experience, skills and knowledge

Passionate about playing and creating games, with in-depth knowledge of the game industry and various game genres.Strong understanding of the full game development cycle, from conception to live phase.Expertise in 3D graphics creation tools (Maya, Blender, 3Ds Max, Zbrush, Substance Painter/Designer, Photoshop, etc.) and techniques such as modeling, texturing, animation, and VFX/particles.Solid understanding of AAA game art production pipelines, including PBR, shader optimization, asset management, and the technical constraints of real-time 3D game engines and level editors.Familiarity with Python, MEL, MAX Script, C++, C#, or other programming languages (Technical Artist experience is a plus).At least 5 years of experience working as an artist in a lead role within a video game development team, ideally in AAA games.Experience managing outsourced art assets is a plus.

Artistic and Technical Competence

Strong artistic skills in modeling, UV unwrapping, texturing, and a keen eye for composition, color theory, and artistic sensitivity.Comfortable working across a wide range of artistic styles (photorealistic to stylized), with a preference for realistic and grounded visuals.

Soft Skills and Team Dynamics

Creative, flexible, and open to feedback, with strong collaboration and team-player skills.Problem-solving mindset with a focus on overcoming challenges and optimizing workflows.A role model for high standards, attention to detail, and organized working habits to ensure high-quality results.

Additional Preferences

Fluent in English.Knowledge of The Division IP universe, including its world, stories, characters, and mechanics, is a plus.Familiarity with Unreal Engine and mobile platform development is a plus.
