Lead AV Technician
Job Title: Lead Audio Visual Technician
Summary: As the Lead Audio Visual Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation, operation, and maintenance of audio visual (AV) systems in various settings such as corporate offices, educational institutions, and entertainment venues. Your role will involve managing a team of technicians, ensuring the seamless integration of AV equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing exceptional customer service. Experience with Crestron, Extron, AMX, and Biamp systems is essential for this position.
Responsibilities:Install, configure, and calibrate audio visual equipment including projectors, displays, microphones, speakers, and control systems.Lead a team of technicians in the setup and operation of AV systems for events, meetings, and presentations.Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand AV requirements and provide technical expertise and recommendations.Program and integrate control systems such as Crestron, Extron, and AMX to automate AV functionalities and ensure seamless user experience.Troubleshoot technical issues related to audio, video, and control systems, both remotely and on-site, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.Conduct regular maintenance and software updates for AV equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.Provide training and support to end-users on the operation of AV systems and equipment.Manage inventory, procure necessary materials, and maintain documentation for all AV installations and projects.Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in AV technology, and make recommendations for system upgrades and enhancements.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards in all AV installations and operations.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Audio Engineering, or related field preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in audio visual installation, operation, and maintenance.Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting Crestron, Extron, AMX, and Biamp systems.Strong technical skills in audio and video signal processing, routing, and distribution.Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage a team and interact with clients and stakeholders.Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.Certifications such as Crestron DMC-E, Extron AV Associate, AMX Control Programmer, and Biamp TesiraFORTÉ are a plus.Familiarity with industry standards such as AVIXA (formerly InfoComm) and CTS certification is desirable.
