Position Description
Provides oversight of Behavioral Health Technicians to ensure adherence to policies and procedures for this patient population, manages schedules, and works closely with BHS Supervisor to ensure compliance. In addition, provides direct patient care and supportive services to patients with mental health disorders as well as chemically dependent patients to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patients 70% of the time. Carries out a variety of patient care activities which support the maintenance of the therapeutic milieu and which meet the patient’s needs for comfort and safety. In addition to the listed duties and responsibilities, is deemed competent to perform the duties and responsibilities listed in the Emergency Department Technician I (JCC 914) job description.
Position Requirements
REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or other behavioral health related fields Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the behavioral health field BLS CPR certification required Ability to develop, organize and implement various programs. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Evidence of an ability to work well with others, a team player. Evidence of teaching skillsPREFERRED:
Direct patient care experience in a hospital or inpatient psychiatric facility, leadership preferred.
