Are you living your life's work? The Lead Technologist for the diagnostic radiology department will assist the manager with the operations. Under supervision of the Manager, the lead technologist is responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of the specific departments as well as performing patient procedures and quality control. The lead technologist needs to ensure all of the employees work together as a team and routinely rotate through each area. It is important that the lead technologist accepts directives without reservations. There are on call responsibilities. Responsibilities: Employee Satisfaction + Works effectively with all staff. + Able to build productive relationships and improve communication among staff. Clinical Management + Manage the daily scheduling of staff in Inpatient, and ER Radiology. + Mange the on-call schedule for all staff. + Consults with Manager regarding scheduling, equipment problems and maintenance and other departmental issues. • Materials Management + Maintains supply stock levels needed for daily operation. + Communicates need and/or acquires supplies for each section. + Ensures Q-sight is properly managed by all staff. Radiology Equipment + Safely operates radiology equipment using proper techniques. + Maintains radiology equipment and troubleshoots service problems. + Performs quality assurance testing consistent with section protocols. + Practices radiation safety at all times. Patient Care + Ensures patient safety at all times. + Always verifies patient identity prior to exam and ensures preparation of room prior to patient arrival. + Aids radiologists, doctors, and other UPHS team members in completing procedures. + Responds to emergency situations according to department/hospital policies. + Takes initiative to resolve concerns from patients, family members, physicians, UPHS personnel and co-workers. Minimum Qualifications: + Graduate of an approved Radiology Technology program required. + 2 years of experience preferred. + ARRT Required. + AHA CPR within 6 months required.
