Alstom Rolling Stock South Africa (Pty) Ltd is looking for a Lead Buyer-Indirect Procurement based in our Boksburg Plant.
THE PURPOSE OF THE LEAD BUYER-INDIRECT PROCUREMENT ROLE IS TO:
Deploy commodities strategy for capex, civil works and general services. This role ensures project execution in line with Quality Cost Delivery (QCDT) objectives and pilots contractual relationships with suppliers according to scope required on different sites. The role ensures Supplier Panel relationship support (supplier capacity; capability; negotiation and specific contract as per technical (capex); civil works and general services scope).
THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITY WILL BE:
Key Accountabilities
Support Head of Procurement in execution of the Procurement mandate for Alstom Rolling Stock South Africa Play a leading role in Procurement Projects (RFx) supporting the Buyer To execute day-to-day buying at a specific region and ensure that purchasing transactions are directed through the correct procure-to-pay (P2P) channel. Integrated in each domain team, the Buyer will deploy commodity strategy to serve local requirements while keeping in line with the Global Strategy at Central (ALSTOM). Contracts to be implemented per Indirect Procurement scope either global or local contracts to be manage between the Lead Buyer and Legal Procurement. P2P Management – SAP ARIBA & S2C. Supplier Risk Management.
Responsibilities
Identification of project and business needs in order of priority. Preparation and launch of Request For Information or Request for Quotation via the ERP system - SAP ARIBA and Source to Contract (S2C). Negotiation of cost reduction with suppliers Inputs provider/contributor for order placement Ensure QCD targets achievement, Lead supplier QCD performance reviews with Top Offenders and Key suppliers of the site. Shared Services Scopes for Alstom Head Office. Management of initial issues before escalation to Line Manager. Respect ALSTOM TRANSPORT code of ethics and guidelines.
Commodities
Consolidation of commodity needs, inputs Active participation to commodity strategy and panel elaboration Commodity representative According to delegation, lead commodity segments strategy Support of Commodity Manager in tender phase Represent the commodities towards projects, platforms and solutions Effective teamwork with internal customers and stakeholders in problem solving Apply the Alstom Transport Procurement process, and provide return on experience.
Projects
Closely work with Procurement project representatives (Project Procurement Manager, etc...) Ensure work package sheet commitment respect Ensure QCD targets Ensure support and resolution on priority payment management to secure supplier deliveries on time.
The preferred candidate will meet the following requirements:
Degree from Business school or Supply Chain and Purchasing /Engineering Minimum of at least 5 years working experience in purchasing Fluent English / International background Manufacturing environment experience will be an advantage Experience working with ERP systems – SAP preferable Procurement professional background (5/more years’ experience) Proven track record of Contract Management, Supplier negotiations, Supplier relationship building, Supplier selection process and legal awareness Proven negotiation experience with vendors and suppliers Own transportation with valid driver’s license Financial Acumen – experience in managing material budgets Advanced proficiency with Microsoft office Suite Own transportation with valid driver’s license
