We are looking for a dedicated Lead Cardiac Sonographer like you to be a part of our team. **Job Summary and Qualifications** + Independently performs diagnostic echocardiographic studies utilizing ultrasound imaging and Doppler analysis. + Takes responsibility for assuring that the Echocardiography Lab provides high quality cardiac diagnostic imaging and testing, and consults with the reading physicians concerning difficult or critical test interpretations. + Performs all functions according to hospital policies, practice guidelines, applicable regulatory agencies and professional entities. Maintains the standards associated with ICAEL accreditation; assumes primary responsibility for completing the re-accreditation process every 3 years, fulfilling the role of technical director for purposes of ICAEL accreditation. + Assumes direct responsibility for staff scheduling, and coordinates department personnel to provide appropriate coverage for all hours of operation, including on-call coverage. + Assists with the hiring, orientation, supervision and evaluation of department staff. Acts as a technical resource and mentor to other staff members, and supports their professional growth. Assists with development of action plans to address the individual goals of staff members and provides guidance as needed. + Works with Centralized Scheduling and department staff to optimize the patient scheduling system and meet patient needs. + Has input into the development of the annual department budgets. Assists the Director in the implementation of a tactical operating plan and the monitoring of outcomes on an on-going basis. Promotes the effective and appropriate utilization of both human and material resources. + Assumes responsibility for the routine cleaning and care of the equipment, contacts appropriate personnel for maintenance and repairs, and orders supplies as needed. + Takes responsibility for continued professional growth and development by attending workshops/seminars, maintaining current membership in professional organizations, and by participating with area professional affiliations.
