Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company, is seeking a highly self-motivated and creative scientist or engineer to join our innovation efforts in cooling technologies for the data center industry. We are seeking a Lead Chemical Engineer/Chemist to join the EU Water RD&E team, who will ideally be based in Leiden, the Netherlands. In this role you will be responsible for developing and deploying new technologies and new products to serve customers and to enable business growth. What You Will Do:
Lead/Collaborate in innovation development and deployment (chemistry, digital, and equipment) for Data Center customers:
Identify and understand customer needs and challenges within the datacenter industry and use these learnings build the innovation roadmap
Collaborate with a global team (and across various functions) on the development of technologies that meet customer needs
Develop potential 3rd party collaboration in technology development or assessment;
Provide insight on technical hurdles in innovation development
Be responsible for leading and conducting both lab and field tests which includes;
Analyzing test data, documenting and reporting-out the results in a clear and concise manner
Development of the application guidelines for new products and/or technologies;
Provide advanced technical support to sales and customers which includes but not limited to, technical training, technical exchange, trouble-shooting, etc.
30-50% travel required
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience in the Data Center industry
Masters in chemical, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or related with ideally >5 years of technical or research experience
Ph.D in chemical, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or related with ideally >3 years of technical or research experience
Self-starter with great initiative and drive
Ability to deliver complex information in an easy-to-understand format
Creative problem-solving skills
Proficiency in English (both written and verbal) required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in liquid cooling, closed loop cooling, or thermal system design
Chemistry understanding and experience
Project management skill and experience
