Job Details The Lead Medical Technologist performs various biochemical, microscopic and/or Blood Bank tests to obtain data for use in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of disease and acts as supervisor in the absence of the department supervisor. Responsibilities: Prepares specimens for examination, performs a variety of routine and/or complex laboratory tests and procedures and reports results. Troubleshoots basic instrumentation, technical problems and methodologies. Performs routine and/or preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment. Monitors the department's quality control policies and ensures documentation of all quality control activities, instrument, and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed. Ensures that departmental supplies are stocked and well maintained. Monitors service priorities and workflow patterns to assure prompt and efficient delivery of services Evaluates departmental performance and recommends measures to improve services Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or related science from an accredited school. Licensed as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist under the NYS Department of Education required. Four to Six years successful experience as a Medical Technologist preferred. Demonstrate leadership ability and general knowledge of laboratory operations. Experience in all laboratory areas is preferred. Good oral and written communication skills are required. Salary Range USD $58.54 - USD $73.59 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
