Lead Cloud Architect

We are seeking a Lead Cloud Architect to support a large Supply Chain ERP transformation to Oracle Fusion and MS Azure.

This is a SFIA Level 6 role, requiring expertise in cloud architecture, infrastructure as code, security, and automation to enable a scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud ecosystem.

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY

As the Lead Cloud Architect, you will be responsible for defining and implementing the cloud strategy, architecture, and governance to support the Oracle Fusion ERP transformation and the migration of additional services to Azure. You will ensure that cloud infrastructure is secure, cost-effective, and aligned with best practices to support the transition from legacy systems to a modern cloud environment.

Your role will involve:

Define the cloud adoption roadmap, ensuring alignment with Oracle Fusion ERP modernisation and the transition of other enterprise services to Azure.Implement IaC principles using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, etc to enable rapid provisioning and consistency.Ensure cloud security best practices are implemented, aligning with ISO 27001, NCSC guidelines, and NHS security requirements.Design and manage hybrid and multi-cloud architectures (Oracle Cloud, Azure) to support interoperability.Establish frameworks for FinOps, resource scaling, and performance monitoring.Implement high-availability, failover, and disaster recovery strategies for business-critical applications.Define cloud integration patterns that enable legacy systems to operate alongside Oracle Fusion, OCI and Azure based services during the transition.Work closely with the Lead Enterprise Architect, DevOps, Security, and Application Teams to ensure seamless cloud adoption.Provide technical leadership and advisory support to senior stakeholders on cloud strategy, risks, and benefits.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Proven experience in cloud architecture and enterprise-scale cloud transformation.Expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Azure, particularly in supporting ERP transformations and large-scale service migrations.Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps automation.Strong understanding of hybrid and multi-cloud architectures, ensuring interoperability between on-premise, Azure, and Oracle Cloud environments.Experience in segmenting legacy systems using cloud integrations to enable a structured transition to Oracle Fusion and Azure.Knowledge of cloud security best practices, identity and access management (IAM), and compliance frameworks.Experience working within a SIAM model, ensuring supplier interoperability and governance.Strong understanding of networking, cloud storage, compute scalability, and microservices architectures.Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and translate cloud strategies into actionable roadmaps.


Desirable Skills:

Experience with supply chain ERP transformation, logistics, or procurement systems.Familiarity with serverless computing, AI/ML-driven cloud operations, and observability tools.Certification in Oracle Cloud Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect, TOGAF.
 

This position is a full time, permanent role and applicants must have (or be able to acquire) SC clearance.  Ad-hoc travel may be required to various customer and Leidos sites 

Location: Commutable to Nottingham (Hybrid - On-site average 3 days per week.)
