Lead Cochlear Implant Audiologist - Otolaryngology
**Job Description** **Location:** Chicago, IL **Hospital:** RUSH University Medical Center **Department:** RUMG Audiology OAB550 **Work Type:** Full Time (Total FTE between 0.9 and 1.0) **Shift:** **Shift 1** **Work Schedule:** 8 Hr (8:00:00 AM - 4:30:00 PM) **Summary:** The principal responsibilities for this position are related to providing clinical services. The individual will direct clinical projects. The individual exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures. **Other information:** Each requirement must be a Bona Fide Occupational Qualification (BFOQ). In other words, required credentials must be legitimate: related to duties and neither overstated nor understated. **Knowledge:** Completed a doctoral degree in Audiology. Currently holds or is eligible to obtain Illinois licensure in Audiology. . **Skills:** 5 years or more of experience providing clinical cochlear implant services. Possess excellent problem-solving skills and analytic ability to appropriately diagnose clients’ problems and develop rehabilitation plans; possess good organizational and multi-tasking skills. Possess skills to effectively supervise/manage junior clinical staff members and student clinicians. **Abilities:** Ability to approach each situation with professionalism, flexibility and positive attitude; ability to work and interact well with others so that a positive patient experience remains a priority. Capable of meeting the demands of a high volume, variable caseload **Responsibilities:** 1. Lead the development of a Cochlear Implant Services business plan including initiatives to increase/maintain quality, efficiency, and expansion of these services across all clinical sites/locations. 2. Serve as chief liaison between current and future referring providers and networks to establish and maintain patient care collaborations. 3. Initiate and oversee visibility efforts of the program to include marketing, in-services, media, schools, etc. 4. Collaborate with Rush Department of Otolaryngology and the Department of Communication Disorders and Science in developing a strong and sustainable education and research division of the cochlear implant program. 5. Effectively administer and interpret diagnostic testing for inpatients and outpatients, the caseloads range in age from newborns through geriatric. 6. Provide comprehensive auditory rehabilitation services to all age ranges. 7. Capably direct the development and/or modification of one or more special clinical projects or programs. 8.
