Job Description

The Lead Commercial Contracts position will provide support to Global Procurement Category Managers as the single point of contact for contractual matters.  They will partner with Risk & Security, Legal, Privacy and various other teams to structure Supplier contracts that comply with company policies, government specifications and other requirements to mitigate risk and ensure Sabre protections.  Specific duties include -

Drafting, redlining, evaluating, and negotiating contract terms and conditions (indemnity, limitation of liability, IP, confidentiality, warranty, etc.) for technology contracts (Software/SaaS, Professional Service Agreements, Consultant Agreements, Managed Services, etc.)Using agreed upon playbooks and tools – including leveraging and updating the Contract Management SystemArticulating strategy and contractual language to mitigate riskEnsuring contractual standards are metBuilding productive internal / external relationshipsInteracting effectively with internal stakeholders, Suppliers, Supplier Attorneys, and other external partiesManaging multiple projects concurrentlyDemonstrating professional expertiseApplying company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issuesExercising judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action

EDUCATION:

JD (Juris Doctor) degree7 - 9 years of complex contract negotiating experience and ability to work independently with minimal supervision

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: 

Drafting, evaluating, redlining, and negotiating contract terms and conditions.   Experience with technology contracts a plus.Ability to work effectively with peers around the world and across multiple cross-functional departments (legal, data privacy, risk & security, etc.)Self-starter and able to juggle multiple prioritiesWorks openly and collaborativelyAbility to evaluate contract provisions and minimize risk via redlining (warranty, indemnity, liability, intellectual property, confidentiality, etc.)Identify and explain contract riskAbility to understand and write language that is clear, concise, and conveys intended meaningAbility to problem solve with wordsAble to function and perform at a high level with ambiguity in some casesAbility to focus on details while managing to a bigger picture Outstanding skills in MS Office suiteExperience with Coupa a plus
