Job Description SummaryWhat impact you’ll make?

- The Lead Commodity Specialist Logistics is responsible for leading and executing strategic sourcing activities for the Logistics spend with the goal of achieving significant initial cost reductions and year-over-year continuous improvement while maintaining or improving product quality and supplier service levels. This includes working with the Global Category Leader Logistics and the Gas Power Logistics organization to develop strategies to reduce total cost of ownership – including vendor management, demand management, and governance/compliance. T
- The Lead Commodity Specialist will partner with GE functional stakeholders in Business Sourcing, Supply Chain, Operations, and other groups to identify sourcing needs, determine vendor and demand management strategies, execute sourcing events, and drive organizational processes and compliance.

What you’ll do

Develop and implement sourcing strategies for the Logistics spend categoryDrive annual productivity improvements in applicable spend subcategoriesExecute end-to-end Sourcing process:  strategy, market analysis, negotiation process, supplier selection and contract creation, and buy channel managementTrack performance within each applicable spend category and define budgetary impactMonitor strategy implementation and contract complianceDrive best practicesLeading cross-functional teams to develop and implement category strategiesDrive value through supplier relationship managementUphold internal and external policies, regulations and laws
 

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or collegeStrong experience in Logistics, Sourcing, Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial, or equivalent consulting experienceFluent English knowledge is a mustStrong analytical/problem-solving skills (spend analytics, should-cost analysis, market R&I)

MBA or Bachelor’s degree in Sourcing, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or EngineeringCollaborative mindset in working across functional areasLogistics experienceExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Demonstrated negotiations skillsAggressive self-starterStrong project management skillsExperience with RFQ implementation and executionWorking knowledge of ERP/ TMS systemsHistory with supply base consolidationFluent Hungarian knowledge is a huge plus
