SCPTs must follow proper USP 797 procedures to maintain a sterile environment to prepare safe sterile products that will be administered to patients. SCPTs must also be able to follow USP 800 standards to compound hazardous medications. SCPTs must perform calculations and compounding instructions, ensure proper documentation, and maintain a sterile environment while working under the supervisor of a Pharmacist.
