Inviting applications for the role of Lead Consultant – Linux VMware
We are looking for a Linux engineer who is highly motivated and ready to work in a team environment. The engineer should possess good communication skills and should be able to articulate complex topics to stakeholders. Large Linux server fleet and hence the candidate should be able to support large number of servers. In addition to catering for a dynamic environment, the candidate should also be able to collaborate with other teams such as automation/backup/VMware. The job also requires hands-on expertise on cloud technologies. Knowledge of automation and configuration management technologies such as Ansible/Puppet is a huge addition. The candidate should be able to work in a 24X7 environment with On-Call support.
Responsibilities:
• Installation, configuration, troubleshooting of Linux servers 6,7 RHEL, Centos, OUL
• Responsible for patching Linux servers using yum and resolving issues in Patching
• General OS troubleshooting skills – Performance, log analysis, disk related issues, alert remediations
• Extensive hands-on on bash or other scripting for automation
• Knowledge of SFTP and basic network troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of tomcat and basic troubleshooting – Java basics, tomcat performance parameters
• Hands-on on AWS – Able to spin up EC2, patching in AWS, SSM, security groups, disk expansions in AWS using AWS tools.
• Experienced in supporting day-to-day operational issues and runtime operations
• Able to communicate complex topics to stakeholders.
• Has a basic hands-on on VMware – Able to do snapshots, migration, resource additions etc
• Basic knowledge of Ansible/puppet needed (Able to troubleshoot puppet run time issues and ansible deployment failures)
• Vulnerability management and maintaining security
• Able to use ITIL process and ticketing tools (Familiarity with ServiceNow is a plus)
Qualifications we seek in you
Minimum Qualifications/Skills:
1. Any computer science degree at bachelor or post-graduate level
2. Any AWS certification would be an added plus
3. Any Redhat certification would be an added plus
Preferred qualifications/Skills:
• ITIL certification.
