Lead Counsel (Employment & Class Action Litigation)

What you’ll do

This position is responsible for managing a docket of employment and class action litigation for the world’s largest retailer.  This broad docket includes lawsuits alleging wrongful termination, discrimination, and similar employment-related claims and putative class action lawsuits involving employment or consumer claims.  The docket may also include general commercial litigation matters.  As lead counsel, you will manage assigned cases through resolution, including advising business and legal leadership about legal rights and obligations and identifying risks for remediation.  You will retain, manage, and collaborate closely with outside counsel to drive case strategy, review and edit court submissions, oversee discovery, and manage legal spend.

Creating legal strategies for the Company’s litigation mattersDeveloping business best practices and procedures that will mitigate corporate riskManaging outside counsel on litigation mattersMaintaining budget compliance through consistent management of outside counsel legal fees and litigation costsProviding legal advice and counsel to internal stakeholdersIdentifying the need for legal support for business transactions and projectsCollaborating with internal and external stakeholders

The annual salary range for this position is $160,000.00-$320,000.00

Minimum Qualifications...

Law degree from an accredited law school and 6 years’ experience in law.
License to practice law in at least one state.
