**Overview**
LEAD DATA ARCHITECT (ARDAP):
Bowhead is seeking a Lead Data Architect for the upcomingArmy Data and Analytics Platform (ARDAP) effort located at Fort Belvoir, VA. ARDAP'smission is to accelerate Army leader informed decisions and war-fighter mission accomplishment by ensuring real-time availability of command and logistics information & data. This is a fast paced job managing subject matter experts and IT professionals advising executive level personnel on financial, technical, and other high-level policy areas.
**Responsibilities**
+ Design and implement enterprise data solutions, including data lakes, data warehouses, and ETL pipelines.
+ Provide strong proficiency with data modeling, database design, and SQL optimization.
+ Demonstrate familiarity with AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms and their data services. Experience with metadata management, data cataloging, and data governance practices.
+ Lead development and implementation of analytics solutions to solve business problems and optimize mission execution.
+ Provide guidance in applying appropriate algorithms, solutions, and data science techniques.
+ Collaborate with cross functional teams to deliver scalable and secure data solutions in alignment with DoD requirements.
+ Develop and document data models, data flows, and database schemas to support system functionality, integration, and reporting needs.
+ Lead the design and implementation of data lakes, data warehouses, and ETL pipelines to ensure efficient data processing and storage.
+ Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
+ Develop and manage System Interface Agreements (SIAs) to support seamless data exchange across systems.
+ Implement metadata management and create data catalogs to enhance data discoverability and usability.
+ Support the development of scalable data solutions to handle high-volume, complex datasets.
+ Collaborate with program stakeholders, technical teams, and functional SMEs to define data requirements and solutions.
+ Provide technical leadership to data engineers and developers, ensuring adherence to architectural best practices.
+ Engage with leadership to present data strategies, road-maps, and technical designs, bridging the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.
+ Mentor junior team members and provide training to enhance their skills in data architecture and related technologies.
**Qualifications**
+ BA/S in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline or Equivalent is required - MA/MS preferred.
+ Ten (10+) years of experience of relevant technical experience.
+ AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or equivalent. Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or equivalent.
+ Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
+ Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
+ Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
Physical Demands:
+ Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
+ Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
+ Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
