Lead Data Engineer
WIN Waste Innovations is looking for a Lead Data Engineer/ Data Architect at our corporate office in Portsmouth, NH. They will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. The Data Engineer will support our report developers and application teams on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems, and products. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company's data architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives. What You'll Do... + Plan, design, create, coordinate, and deploy data warehouses. + Design and create best practices for data loading and extraction. + Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture. + Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements. + Develop data architecture, data modeling, and ETL mapping solutions within a structured data warehouse environment. + Develop statistical and machine learning models to solve business problems and derive actionable business insights. + Select appropriate modeling techniques for complex problems with large scale, multiple structured and unstructured data sets + Create and analyze metrics that will be shared with business leaders. + Facilitate requirements gathering and develop solutions to meet the immediate and long-term needs of business customers. + Support the development, validation, and optimization required through the lifecycle of the data warehouse and business. intelligence systems. + Design end user interfaces, maintain user connectivity and provide adequate security for data warehouse. + Monitor the data warehouse and business intelligence systems performance and integrity and provide corrective and preventative maintenance as required. + Create, exercise, and maintain proper change control and testing processes and documentation. + Create descriptions, flowcharts, diagrams, and other design-related documentation, as required. + Support system integration and business reporting as required. + Ensure secure and effective protection and integrity of data assets through proper architecture and regular backups. + Cross-train designated IT team members to ensure support coverage in area of responsibility. + Provide assistance and guidance to other members of the IT team as a Subject Matter Expert. + Maintain positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers and management. Who You Are... + Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of experience with the design, development and support of data warehouse and business intelligence systems for business use. + Significant experience with data mining, analytics and data visualization. + Significant MS SQL Server Database design, development, and management experience. + Significant experience with Microsoft Power BI. + Significant ETL experience utilizing MS SQL Server Integration Services and Azure Data Factory. + Solid knowledge of T-SQL, table and index design, and performance tuning. + Experience with Data Bricks, Synapse and polybase. + Experience with Microsoft Excel VBA, external data connections, PowerPivot and related tools. + Experience using MS SQL Server Reporting Services.
